Today the AFrican Diaspora Forum made our submission to the Gauteng government in a bill that will affect an estimated 40000 of our members. Its aims is to kick out of the townships migrant informal traders.
In our submission, which is available on our website, we indicated it’s a very bad idea that will harm everybody, including thousands of South Africans whose welfare is interlinked with that of the migrant community.
Our plea is for the bill to be redrafted or dropped altogether.
